From Ukraine to Hobart
A Family Building aNew Life in Tasmania
Oleh, Anna and their son Nazarii left Kyiv shortly before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine and arrived in Hobart in 2022. Tasmania became the place where the Mykhalchuk family could begin again, join the local community and build a future around practical work, responsibility and creativity.
Before coming to Australia, Oleh built businesses in Ukraine and helped other Ukrainians turn their skills into working businesses. In Tasmania, he combined that experience with five years of learning from local homes, weather conditions and customer needs to develop clearer property-care systems for Australian homeowners.
Anna continues to share Ukrainian Samchykivka folk art across Tasmania, while the family continues building its life in Hobart. The same values — careful work, honest explanation, responsibility and contributing to the community they now call home — sit behind how Oleh Service Group has been built.
